I'd like to address some important information that i would like for you to consider before you look for a new kitty.
I am very happy to be breeding Napoleons and I love my babies dearly. I breed for show quality kitties that meet the show standard for our breed. I either keep show/breeder quality kittens for myself or I may sell these kittens to be used in another breeders breeding program. The kittens that can not be used for breeding or showing must be altered (spayed or neutered) and sold to a loving forever home to be loved as a new member of their family. The sales from the kittens go back into the cattery funds to buy medicine, pay vet bills, have tests run and to buy food and supplies. I do reserve the right to refuse a sale to anyone at anytime without prejudice or explanation.
Munchkins and dwarf breed health issues.
Munchkins are the original dwarf breed. Many people who know very little about the breed believe the rumors and non-truths that this breed has many health problems. This is not true. If this was true , TICA would not have accepted them as a registered breed in their association.
You are welcome to do your own research about this breed to see if you can find any information that this breed has any breed specific health problems. Then you can make up your own mind without believing false truths that people who know nothing about the breed are saying. Several studies have been done and are presently being done on the dwarf gene to see if their are any health problems relating to this breed. All the studies have come to the same conclusion which is that their are no health problems relating to the dwarf gene or the Munchkin breed itself. The health problems that some people are linking to this breed are problems that occur in all cats and are not related to any specific breed. There are many websites relating to several studies done by several feline geneticist.
The most interesting website information was done by Dr Pfleger. The website address for her work is: http://www.showcatsonline.com/x/SolveigPflueger.shtml
Another feline geneticist is Dr Susan Little. Twitter: https://twitter.com/catvetsusan
Dr Leslie Lyons who is located at the University of Missouri is presently doing further studies on the dwarf gene beyond what has already been done on this gene. Several breeders that are currently working with the Munchkins and the Napoleon have had several of their cats evaluated by her for her most recent research. We expect her findings to be published soon because we are very interested in her most recent evaluations. Her main focus of work is to evaluate the spinal colom of these two breeds. Dwarf cats
Dwarf cats are known for sitting up on their hind legs like Prairie dogs or Marmosets. They often lay or sleep on their backs more often than other cats. i think they like to stop, drop and roll but the dwarves don't need to drop as far as the other kitties. Their are many new dwarf breeds emerging today that would like to follow in the Napoleons foot steps to move up in TICA status. The goal of all breeds is to move up into the championship status so that their cats can be shown to earn their titles. The new dwarf breeds are being called designer breeds because they are hybrid breeds created from a cross of two existing cat breeds (one being the Munchkin breed). TICA is against allowing these breeds into their association calling these breeds "Munchkinized breeds". The breeders find this attitude ridiculous because there are already many hybridized breeds created from other established breeds like the Persians and the Siamese. There is a link to The Dwarf Cat Society where you can find more information about these other new hybrids created using the Munchkin breed.
Napoleons
like the other dwarf breeds are known for having the best personalities and they are very intelligent. Naps as well as most cats will give unconditional love to any humans but the Naps have been rated as exceedingly special cats. Please keep in mind that non-standard (normal length legged) Napoleons and kittens in the other dwarf breeds that did not get short legs are just as sweet as the standard (short legged) kittens. Many breeders like myself offer the non-standard kittens at a discount as a companion for the standard that you purchase from our catteries. Often when I sell either type of Napoleon kitten I always get a huge response from the buyer that they are extremely surprised that they had not ever seen a cat with such a sweet, loving, personality. Napoleon cats do get a breed specific health problem from the Persian side of their parentage. Persians and any breed who has this breed in their background (which includes Exotics and Himalayans) can get a kidney disease called PKD. PKD stands for Polycystic Kidney Disease. Anyone who breeds Persians, Exotics or any other related breed must test their cats for this disease. This is an easy test that requires swabbing the inside of the cats mouth and sending in the swabs in a package to the lab. The test is not cheap and when you multiply the cost for every cat with the Persian gene behind it, the total costs can get very high. If a breeder cat has produced kittens that are positive for this gene this does not mean the cat will get this disease. This means that they carry the gene and could possibly get the disease in the future. So these kittens are sold at a lowered price with the full disclosure that they tested positive for the gene. If you are looking for a standard kitty and you can't afford the high price of the negative kittens, you may ask if the breeder has a positive kitten offered at a lowered price. Of course you are taking a risk that this kitten could get this disease.
Purchasing a kitten is your choice.
If this breed is what you are looking for and you think you would be happy owning a Napoleon then please contact me as soon as possible to be added to my waiting list. If this is not what you want and you think that you may want a Munchkin or some other breed of cat, please go to my links page to see what links i have for you to find a kitty of a different breed. If i don't have the link you are looking for you may need to do a search for that breed and I hope that you have good luck in finding exactly what you are looking for. Keep in mind that purchasing or rescuing a kitty is a choice that most breeders like myself are not against. I suggest that you look at the local shelter or a shelter online to find a kitten or a cat before you choose to buy a kitten. There are several shelters online like Pet Finder that you can use to find a kitty. i have several links on my links page for shelters that you can contact to find a kitten.

Reserving a Kitten
My kitten waiting list.
If you are interested in purchasing a kitten contact me and go to my Facebook cattery page named Purwaky Minuet AKA Napoleons. Follow the instructions below which basically say that you need to read my contract and send me a brief statement letting me know what your home life is like.
Fees
for my cats are set a bit lower than some other breeders. This is because I am a new Nap breeder and I feel that the people in my area are not known for having a lot of money to spend on a luxury item such as a rare breed of pet like the Napoleon. I feel that some of the other breeders prices that I have seen on the internet are too high for a large portion of the population and this prevents many people from being able to purchase a Napoleon. So I have presently decided to set the prices on my kittens as they are stated below. The prices can be changed at any time depending on how sales are progressing. But if i have quoted a price to you keep you in an email or other message, remind me that I have done this and show me the message. I will not raise a price for a kitty if I have already quoted a lower price.
These prices quoted are for PETS only. This means that either the kitten will be altered before you receive it or you must agree to have it altered within 6 months of your purchase date. I will ask you to read and sign a contract which will be your receipt, health guarantee and spay/neuter contract which is a legal document.
Contact me for individual adoption fees.
The prices on my kittens now vary due to certain circumstances. Prices may be based on their quality, face type, sex, color, leg length, registration papers, age, etc. So each kitten will now be individually priced. Also not that if I quote a price that does not mean that it is set in stone. I will negotiate a price with anyone. So go ahead and inquire about any kitten you see or may want. I want these kittens to find good homes more than I need the money. The money that comes from the sale of all the kitties goes back into the cattery for the cats needs.
Prices are subject to change without notice. Occasionally I must raise my prices due to the high cost of living.
If you choose to purchase a playmate companion non-standard kitten to go with your standard kitten the second kitten will be discounted for you.
If you are looking to purchase a breeder or show quality kitten please contact me as soon as possible so we can talk privately about the kittens that i may have available that are of breeder quality and I will mentor you if you are a new breeder.
Occasionally I may have an adult or older kitten available for sale as a pet. Please inquire if you do not see one posted for sale.
Payments or installments can be made on your kitty as long as the kitty is paid in full when it leaves the cattery. You must have an agreement in writing between you and the breeder before partial payments can be made.
A $200 non-refundable deposit will hold a kitten for you if you are interested in a specific kitten.
Once a kitten has a deposit on it, it will not be offered for sale to anyone else and as soon as the kitten is ready to leave you can come and pick it up by appointment only. If you back out of the sale I must keep the deposit since I entered the agreement in good faith and I could possibly have sold that kitten if I had offered that kitten to other buyers. You may be able to transfer the deposit only if there are any kittens available at that time but there is no guarantee that you can do this. There has to be a kitten available and under certain circumstances we may be able to work something out.
The kittens will have all their vaccinations current and they will be de-wormed before they leave. They may have additional parasite control products on them as well as anything else I may feel that kitten may need.
Kittens are ready to go to their new homes around 12 weeks old. Sometimes I may hold kittens until they are 14 weeks old. Standard Naps tend to run small in size so it may be necessary to hold onto smaller kittens.
All kittens come with a health record and a health guarantee for one year against any congenial or genetic health problems. This guarantee is to replace the kitten with a kitten of equal quality and I do not give cash refunds. If the kitten has a minor problem I may take the kitten back until it's illness has been cleared up and the kitten will be returned to you. If the kitten has a very minor problems I may offer to give you the medicine to treat the problem and I will instruct on how to dispense the medicine to the kitten.
To reserve a kitten part of the process will include giving me some information about you and your family. Please send me a brief statement pertaining to what your household is like. Tell me if your house is quiet because it is and empty nest or if you have a house full of kids and other pets. Briefly tell me if you have a vet and how often you take your pets to the vet. You don't have to give specifics. Just let me know it you have the income to care for your pets and what you do when you pet gets sick.
You must read and sign a contract once we have gone over the details about your kitty. If you have any questions about anything regarding reserving a kitten or the purchase of a kitten or other aspects relating to the purchase please contact me via email and I will do my best to give you the answers that you seek. My email address is [email protected] I also have a deposit statement that you can use when you send a deposit. You can email a copy of it or send me a statement agreeing to the terms of the deposit statement. Anything along those lines will work but you don't have to use it if you don't want to but a brief statement acknowledging that you know that the deposit is non-refundable would be nice. If you have any questions pertaining to this let me know.
